ABOUT IT
Community of Practice: Strengthening Data Collection, Analysis, and Communication in Portuguese-speaking African Countries.
This project is the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Association of Field Epidemiology Professionals (ProEpi), the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) of Cabo Verde, the National Institute of Public Health (INASA) of Guinea-Bissau, and the Ministries of Health of the respective countries, with support from Vital Strategies and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.
This initiative continues the project developed in 2022 to strengthen the National Public Health Bulletins of both countries. In this context, the new project aims to improve the quality of health data and information by reinforcing the second year of each country’s National Public Health Bulletin, establishing the Community of Practice to empower autonomy for the continued publication strategy of the countries’ epidemiological scenarios.
Health professionals and alumni from the field epidemiology programs of Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau are the target audience for activities designed to strengthen capacities and skills in various areas of epidemiology, including health communication processes with systematic, high-quality, and reliable information.
